Green Resistance Economy: The Case for Industrial Hemp in the Global South
Iran and Lebanon are two clear case studies of how the arrogant powers – namely the Anglo-American empire and international Zionism – prefer to have nations they wish to subjugate in a state of total economic dependency on foreign powers through the heavy reliance on imports, leaving their domestic economies in shambles due to its utter weakness. Lebanon is the most extreme example, which is currently unfolding presently in a quite tragic and devastating economic collapse.
In his speech for the Iranian New Year (Nowruz) of 1397 (2018), Ayatollah Khamenei stated: “If national production is accelerated, many problems will be resolved. I have chosen this as the center of this year’s slogan. This year’s slogan is ‘Support for Iranian Products’: the Year of ‘Support for Iranian Products.’ This is not only related to officials, all people from various social backgrounds can help in this area, and they can enter the arena in the real sense of the word.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution understands clearly the enemy’s agenda and why an Economy of Resistance is necessary to attain independence and reduce reliance on foreign powers, especially those which are hostile.
Thomas Sankara, the late revolutionary leader from Burkina Faso (who served as its first president), also lamented this economic domination agenda.
Referring to Burkina Faso’s agricultural capacities, he stated “in other countries, farmers constituting less than 5 percent of the population manage not only to feed themselves adequately and satisfy the basic needs of the entire nation, but also to export enormous quantities of their agricultural produce. Here, however, more than 90% of the population, despite strenuous exertions, experiences famine and deprivation and, along with the rest of the population, is compelled to fall back on imported agricultural products, if not on international aid.” He often referred to imperialism being the imported wheat, millet, and barley that comes on the tables of his fellow countrymen. He described imports’ only advantage as being in “their packaging aimed at bourgeois afflicted with snobbishness.”
Some of the best quotes from the above speech are where Sankara states “Let’s make sure that the African market belongs to Africans. Let’s produce in Africa, manufacture in Africa, and consume in Africa. Let’s produce what we need and consume what we produce, instead of importing goods.”
More powerfully, he put his words into practice, to not only show lack of hypocrisy but to lead by example. Sankara declared:
“Burkina Faso came here to show you our locally produced cotton, woven in Burkina Faso, and tailored in Burkina Faso to clothe our people. I, along with my delegation, am dressed by our tailors, our farmers. Not a single thread comes from Europe or America. I am not presenting a fashion show here [crowd laughs], but I simply would like to say that we must accept to live according to the African way, it’s the only way to live in freedom and with dignity.”
This quote is of particular importance in regards to the main topic of this paper and God willing, it will be paraphrased and repurposed to make it apply to our modern era and with a more eco-friendly crop that requires less water than cotton and produces more useable fabric per square kilometer to make clothes with than cotton.
In 2020, Sayed Hasan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Hezbollah, announced a jihad of industry and agriculture, echoing the same principles as Imam Khamenei and Thomas Sankara.
Industrial development is very important for the sovereignty of those nations whose sovereignty is under constant threat and attack.
This push for a Resistance Economy should take place at the official levels – i.e. between states – and at the non-official levels – i.e. between business owners, factory owners, and traders who are morally upright and wish to apply their ideological values into their businesses so that they can feel good about themselves, as a life that just is about pursuing money and wealth will not lead to happiness, but using that wealth for the sake of God will.
There are many obstacles to this.
The cultural idolization of imported products requires a certain strategy to make people less mentally enslaved towards a certain brand name. Even if there is a good quality domestic product, the quality is not what matters, but the status symbol of having a certain imported brand hanging off your body, displayed in your home, or adorned on the vehicle you drive, which leads people to avoid purchasing domestic goods in spite of their comparable high quality.
This requires cultural activism, combining the efforts of schools, cinema (avoiding having the main characters be associated with imported brands), and even social media.
Other threats are directly aimed at industrialization itself, sometimes disguised in friendly sounding terms like “sustainable development” and “climate protection.”
One of the biggest menaces of this faux-environmentalism – which is really a Trojan Horse to promote de-industrialization of the Global South – is UN Agenda 21, mostly referred to as the UN 2030 program.
2030 is not just limited to infiltrating school curriculum in order to promote indecent sexualized imagery to innocent children as young as 4-5 years old, but also includes faux-environmental policies designed to cripple the economic development of countries who wish to become independent.
The West got to the level they are at due to fossil fuels, that they gained unfairly due to their invasion of countries to take their resources at below market value. They can afford to de-industrialize now that they are all set.
It’s no different than when an athlete needs to consume a lot of protein when they are body building, and then once they get to the body shape they want, they can stop consuming so much protein. But in the case of UN 2030, this body builder who completed their own mission now wants to stop others from consuming too much protein, including those who just started coming to the gym today and still have a long way to go to make themselves as strong as the seasoned bodybuilder now seeking to enact rations.
This metaphor adequately describes how the Carbon Tax scheme and the other components of “sustainable development” is nothing but green capitalism designed to prevent nations which pose a threat to the arrogant powers from becoming independent and thus impervious to any economic sanctions and other schemes directed at weakening them.
Thanks to God, the new Iranian President, Sayed Ibrahim Raisi, has pulled Iran out of the UN 2030 program and has specifically gone against many of the Agenda 21 measures, specifically promoting the development of rural areas and villages, whereas Agenda 21 calls for depopulating the rural areas and villages and stuffing everyone into cities so that they can be dependent on corporations for their livelihoods. In cities, people can barely grow a proper, full-size and mature tomato plant in their balcony (if they even have one) with all the proper nutrients that a tomato plant grown in rich, abundant soil has.
Thanks to God, the one who Creates with a wisdom and reason behind everything, has given man all that he needs, but not all for his greed. God has given us many tools at our disposal, whether natural resources or through the intellect He gives humans in the acquired sciences (through which technologies are created), when if used morally (and not immorally as is in the case with Western industry and science, i.e. Monsanto, Dow, and Pfizer) can alleviate so many problems of human beings, allowing us to then focus on our spiritual descent towards our Creator without worrying about freezing to death in the winter or carrying water up a mountain in order for our families to drink, cook, and bathe.
This same merciful, wise Creator has created a vast array of plants that can produce a myriad of useful products to help us achieve this state of material comfort so that we can turn our minds towards our Creator without being bogged down by the stresses of survivalism.
One plant that God created with a myriad of usefulness for humanity that must be an important staple of the Resistance Economy is Industrial Hemp.
The Latin scientific name for Industrial Hemp is Cannabis Ruderalis. It is the cousin of Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica. However, Industrial Hemp can also be a type of Cannabis Sativa but in a variety that contains very low levels of the psychoactive THC compound. But for the purposes of this paper, we will refer to it as Ruderalis for differentiation purposes only.
Sativa and Indica are otherwise known as marijuana, and their flowers contain the intoxicating substance THC in high volumes. However, Ruderalis has incredibly negligible amounts of THC and cannot be used to become intoxicated. It has zero narcotic value and cannot be used as a recreational drug. Therefore, Industrial Hemp (Ruderalis) is mostly used for industrial purposes, as the name suggests.
Due to the plant’s versatility, and the fact that it produces more raw materials per square kilometer than all of its competition (cotton, trees, you name it), it was made illegal in the US in the 1930s by several industrial tycoons like the Rockefeller family and William Randolph Hurst. America’s global dominance resulted in copycat policies around the world. If America changes its policy, then it takes years for other nations to catch up, making them stuck in the past, which is exactly what is happening.
The US and Europe now allow the cultivation of Industrial Hemp and are trailblazers in the industry.
If you want to buy hemp-based products, it is American and European companies and websites that sell it, meanwhile the countries whom they exported their corrupt anti-hemp policies to are still using harmful materials like petrochemical-derived polyester to produce clothing, which has an array of negative health effects, while hemp is eco-friendly and all natural.
There is no reason to let the arrogant powers win this competition which they themselves have rigged so that they may get a head start while other countries are still stuck copying the West’s old, corrupt anti-hemp policies.
Not only does hemp produce more raw materials per square kilometer than all of its competition, the kinds of products it can produce is also incredibly versatile, making it a threat to other economic competitors on a multitude of fronts. Hemp is incredibly cheap, requires little to no pesticide use, and achieves maturation in only a few months, making it a great rotational crop to plant in between harvests of other plants. It returns nutrients to the soil, rather than sapping the soil of its lifeforce.
From its stalk’s outer surface, a fibrous layer can be removed and turned into threads for making fabrics.
From these fabrics anything within your imagination that can be produced out of fabric, can be produced by hemp. Clothes, bedding, curtains, carpets, organic mattresses (we can put the overpriced Western organic mattress market out of business with cheaply produced hemp mattresses – just need some hemp, recycled metal for inner springs, wool for natural fire-retardant, and natural rubber latex as a non-toxic memory foam that is minimally processed to achieve hypoallergenic qualities to avoid harming those with latex allergies), natural baby clothes, modest wear for women (hijab, abaya/chador), furniture upholstery, car seat upholstery, military/police uniforms, and more.
The fabrics can be thick and durable for winter wear, work wear, and military wear. It can also be made to be thin, like French linen, to keep people cool during the summer heat.
From its stalk’s inner layer, a hard core can be used similar to the pulp of a tree to produce paper products and also can be processed to make natural building materials, otherwise known as “hempcrete.”
Hempcrete naturally regulates humidity, temperature (great insulation), and gives off no toxic fumes. Its ingredients are simple and can be used to make durable homes out of the very soil the home is built on.
Civil engineers and chemists can research its durability for use in road repair, as to whether or not the basic hempcrete recipe needs any minor additions in order to make it a suitable alternative to asphalt so that countries with road problems can give jobs to their own people to grow their way to better roads.
The leaves and seeds can be used for foods. The leaves may not be very tasty, even for salads, so it can potentially go to feed livestock, but that should be left for animal experts to determine if it is a proper food and for which animal. The seeds are tasty and can be eaten by humans. They are high in essential fatty acids and protein. They can be mashed up into a baby food, or minimally processed to make a protein powder.
The flowers can be used to produce an essential oil that is a powerful medicine. Unlike Sativa and Indica (marijuana), hemp does not cause intoxication. However, it is not clear to this author if Industrial Hemp’s (Ruderalis) essential oil is as medicinally powerful as Sativa/Indica.
According to both scientific and anecdotal evidence, cannabinoids can cure cancer. Most real life examples of people who have cured their cancer with cannabis oil have used Sativa/Indica, not Ruderalis.
More studies should be done on the efficacy of Ruderalis before making claims of it being one of the forbidden cures censored by the Rockefeller Medical Mafia of the US. Ruderalis is rich in the cannabinoid CBD, which is non-psychoactive, and still is known for its powerful medicinal qualities. CBD is the same whether from Sativa/Indica or Ruderalis, the only difference is the doseage levels between the species.
According to Islamic law, by the risalat of Imams Khamenei and Sistani, it is halal to use Sativa/Indica for legitimate medical use only and haraam for recreational use.
However, practically speaking, with criminal trades and subversive cultural propaganda coming from the West which normalizes the “drug culture,” in addition to social woes which create a sense of escapism in people which they sadly turn to drugs in order to mask their inner pains, there needs to be a huge regulatory, security, military, and cultural framework implemented in order to safely create a cultivation system for medical marijuana (Sativa/Indica) so that it remains as a medicine only and that any other use is strictly punished by the law.
For example, the state could directly control the cultivation of medical Sativa/Indica in farms that resemble a maximum security prison under military protection, and eliminate any illicit farms not controlled by the state. Any theft/smuggling for recreational use will be severely punished, whether by outside infiltrators or corrupted insiders who take bribes. The budget that was originally used on preventing medical use of marijuana should be directed towards doubling down on the punishment of recreational sellers. However, that is not enough. The cultural impetus that creates the need for drug abuse should be addressed: poverty, spiritual issues (weak faith), psychological issues (escapism, depression), as well as those culturally subversive elements which seek to make recreational drug use to be “cool” and “fun.”
Sadly, even in Islamic countries, immoral businessmen who will do anything for profit (or perhaps they are even doing it on purpose to subvert religious values) sell t-shirts and other consumer items with images of marijuana leaves on it, to promote it as some cultural symbol, rather than treating it seriously as a medicine. You don’t see any other medicine being advertised culturally: when was the last time you saw a t-shirt or cell phone case with imagery of Lipitor, Claritin, or even other herbal medicines like ginger or elderberry? Any traces of positive cultural references to recreational cannabis should be eliminated until it is viewed seriously as a medicine and a medicine only. Importers of these goods should face fines, while sellers of these goods (who buy from the bulk importers) should face lesser punishments as well as have incentives not to sell goods with marijuana icons printed on it, such as receiving full compensation for their invoices to turn in their goods to authorities on the promise that they will never buy such goods from the main importers/distributors ever again.
Another obstacle that presents itself is the fact that since the onset of the CIA’s MK Ultra program — which experimented with psychedelic drugs and included a cultural program to normalize “drug culture” through its agents like Timothy Leary — the potency of the marijuana plant has increased dramatically over the decades. The percentage of CBD has been reduced, while THC maximized through the process of crossbreeding. CBD — a non-psychoactive substance — helps to counteract the negative effects of THC, such as psychosis and paranoia, which explains why people who use modern, genetically-altered strains of marijuana experience many negative effects on their cognitive health including schizophrenia. Today’s marijuana is very, very dangerous due to this manipulation.
Therefore, heritage strains that are much less potent and have a balanced CBD:THC ration should be sought for this strictly-regulated medicinal program, and illicit drug manufacturers should be cracked down on further and their altered, ultra-potent strains eradicated from existence. But it requires many years, large expenses, and dismantling the “drug culture” propaganda that makes marijuana seem to be “cool” in order to effectively implement such a strict and well-regulated system so that this substance is finally relegated to the shelves of pharmacies instead of on the streets where it destroys and ruins lives through destructive addictions.
Since such a regulatory apparatus would be difficult to set up, industrial hemp is a far easier option to deal with. The essential oil of Ruderalis flowers contains no narcotic value and can be easily processed without having to worry about illicit smuggling, theft, bribery, or the cultural normalization of its recreational use.
Scientists should study both sativa and ruderalis to determine which illnesses can only be treated by each one, as given the powerful effects of CBD that scientific studies have shown, the most plentiful in CBD is ruderalis, not sativa, so many people who would like to treat their terminal illnesses without having their mind clouded by the intoxication of THC would love to opt for the essential oil of the ruderalis flower instead of the sativa flower.
Since studies show that CBD can treat and even cure most of the illnesses that THC has been shown to treat or cure, it may be that only a handful of illnesses require actual THC-containing sativa oil. Independent scientists from the Islamic world should set the record straight by conducting studies free from the influence of pharmaceutical companies, as well as social engineers who seek to normalize recreational marijuana use by abusing the statistics that show the medicinal benefits of cannabinoid compounds. However, in most cases there is no need to consume an intoxicating narcotic when the flower of hemp (ruderalis) is non-narcotic, contains insignificant trace amounts of THC, and is plentiful in the medicinal CBD compound. The oil from hemp flowers can offer most of the same benefits without the intoxication.
Most normal people do not want to suffer from intoxication in order to heal their ailments. Additionally, we cannot fool God and we are accountable before Him. We cannot find a lame excuse in order to try to fool ourselves that getting intoxicated is “medicinal” when we are not some young child with brain cancer, lymphoma, or autism, or a middle aged person with Parkinson’s or multiple sclerosis. Even then, most of such illnesses can be treated with non-narcotic oil from the hemp flower.
Narcotic drug use destroys lives — I myself have experience of this, as a former recreational marijuana abuser — we should not try to find a lame excuse in order to “justify” it and it should only be saved for those who truly need it, especially when it is likely that only a handful of illnesses would have greater success being treated by THC-rich sativa rather than the non-narcotic ruderalis. In all other cases, ruderalis is a non-narcotic and safe way to treat an illness without intoxication.
Many medicines, especially those with a powerful effect on the human body, have side effects, and they are used only when the benefits outweigh the risks. For example, heroin is used widely as a painkiller and is accepted across the medical establishment. This medicinal heroin takes the form of synthetic opiates, such as oxycontin and other prescription painkillers. They are used in hospitals as well as in prescriptions. In some parts of the world, even natural heroin is used in place of synthetic pharmaceutical opiate derivatives. However, it is used only in very specific circumstances where it is needed, and not beyond that. The same thing with medical cannabis, it should be just another medicine on the shelves only used for very specific situations, and when the treatment period is completed, the use stops. Healthy people should absolutely not be using such a substance long-term as it destroys their body, mind, and soul.
This is especially important when it comes to the lives of important people within the Islamic resistance movement. In a perfect world, doctors would be well-versed in both allopathic and naturopathic treatments and through their comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine, natural medicine, as well as diet/lifestyle, they can treat each patient according to their needs. If God forbid important people within the resistance movement fall ill, and a doctor who is well-rounded in both pharmaceutical medicine and herbal medicine prescribes a treatment for them and finds that this medicine is the most suitable for their needs, it is infinitely preferable to use medicine from the flower of industrial hemp than from the actual cannabis plant, since all the medical benefits are there due to there being a near total absence of intoxicating THC compounds.
It is imperative that their minds are sharp and if — God forbid — they are diagnosed with a terminal illness and have the insight to know the corruption within the western medicine system and thus consult with both modern and natural medical professionals, this type of natural treatment should be within their options but in a way where they get all the benefits of this medicine without any of the intoxication. The flower of ruderalis is that very option, because CBD has most of the same medicinal benefits as THC but without any of the intoxication, and ruderalis has THC levels that are often well below 1% and thus impossible to cause intoxication even in large doses.
Hemp-based flower extracts are used around the world, sold legally in health food stores for the treatment of autism, arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, chronic pain, insomnia, and other such conditions.
However, as a marketing gimmick to make more money, most Western companies dilute ruderalis flower extract into olive, coconut, or hemp seed oils. American companies would dish out 9mg per serving (which is barely enough for mild illnesses like arthritis or insomnia) and charge over $100 per bottle (30 servings per unit). That is a highway robbery of sick people. For the sake of caring about sick people more than money, the pure essential oil should be given to hospitals and pharmacies, and doctors and pharmacists should determine the necessary dosage of the pure oil based on condition, age, weight, height, etc.
This is especially important for countries with sanctions on medicine, hemp flower essential oil can be a powerful replacement for sanctioned medicines for a multitude of illnesses. Additionally, the state can subsidize the cost of it for poor patients who have no money.
There are many other censored cures for illnesses, so it’s not like the oil from the flowers of Sativa or Ruderalis are the only option. Vitamin B17, which can be found in the seeds of apricot fruits, has also been shown to cause remission of cancer cells, but is censored by the corrupt US medical establishment as a “poison,” meanwhile their go-to choice for cancer treatment is an actual poison known as chemotherapy.
The reason for being sensitive in my language in this section is because I myself almost had my life destroyed by recreational drug use, including marijuana. I must make myself perfectly clear my absolute hatred for recreational drug use, cartels, and dealers. Just because US policy on drugs is hypocritical — the CIA and Jewish mafia are the biggest drug dealers, while their propaganda in Hollywood and music makes drug use seem “cool,” which means youth get mixed messages where the law says it is wrong but the culture says it is good — does not mean that the opposite extreme, which is legalization, is the correct option. Libertarians, whose ideology is practically Satanism (“do what thou wilt,” the famous quote from Satanist Aleister Crowley, is the basis of libertarian philosophy), are absolutely wrong on this issue, and are as mistaken as the mainstream US government position in their hypocritical war on drugs. However, I am also vehemently against the corrupt Big Pharma mafia which intentionally censors many potential cures for illnesses, of which the oil of the flowers of Sativa and Ruderalis are included, but any medical treatment must be done under a controlled environment, and certainly very sensitive substances like cannabis must be under strict state control to make sure that it is only used for legitimate medical purposes, and any other purposes are strongly cracked down on by the state anti-narcotic forces.
I must also make myself clear on this issue, as there are those hypocrites who have a sickness in their hearts, and like to try to throw dirt on the face of a believer and humiliate their reputation by twisting their words and slandering them. If anyone says I am endorsing drug use or support the abuse of marijuana outside certain exceptional situations like cancer or epilepsy, which most people don’t have, they are lying about my position and have ill intent. I seek refuge in Allah and ask for His forgiveness.
The good thing is that industrial hemp has no narcotic value, but plenty of industrial value to alleviate economic issues that sanctioned countries face.
Aside from being eco-friendly and producing so many usable raw materials per square kilometer, it is incredibly cheap to cultivate and process. Endless amounts of YouTube videos by hemp farmers demonstrate that average equipment found in the home or in standard hardware stores can be used for processing the harvested hemp into useable raw materials. The processing of the raw materials also requires little money. Fibers can be processed into fine threads for use in textile applications with something as little as a wooden plank and a few nails (to produce a comb).
Fancy industrial equipment is not necessary to get started. That is why such an industry can be beneficial to even the most poor and underdeveloped agricultural regions of the Global South, enabling poor farmers to benefit from a cash crop that can bring income for them in a short period of time while restoring nutrients to their soil, especially if used as a rotation crop in between different harvests.
Industrial equipment can be of course added later on but there is no need to delay kickstarting this industry – it can be done starting tomorrow!
With good intentions, can come unintended consequences. We must think hard to analyze to see if hemp, despite being a necessary staple of a green resistance economy, would have a similar detrimental effect as the de-industrialization scheme of UN Agneda 21 disguised as “sustainable development,” on account of the fact that the Global South is targeted by a myriad of schemes: wars, economic sanctions, and corruption. To introduce a new crop that would be serious competition to many existing industries, thus posing a threat to monopolists, might have negative short-term effects.
For the sake of curbing negative short-term effects in the interest of strategic economic defense, economists must analyze to see if introduction of hemp to X or Y country/region would have a negative effect on the economic strength of a country.
For example, if a country like Lebanon, which is struggling economically and putting hopes on its offshore oil reserves, were to start developing refineries that turn hemp into hemp biodiesel for powering cars and electricity generators, it would threaten the oil industry.
Perhaps hemp doesn’t generate as much wealth as petroleum, this potentially crippling the ability of Lebanon to gain the wealth it needs from its oil reserves. It should be determined if even hemp cultivation has the potential to produce nearly as much materials as petroleum, as the amount of hemp biodiesel may not even be a blip on the radar compared to how much petrol is under the sea.
In any case, if it turns out that hemp biodiesel would severely ruin the chances of gaining the necessary wealth from oil in order to rebuild Lebanon, then perhaps a strategic temporary moratorium on hemp biodiesel should be placed for a period of time, such as 10 years, so as to enable Lebanon to benefit from its oil wealth, rebuild its country, and then phase in hemp biodiesel.
This should not be a free pass for monopolists to prevent competition from taking their place; there must be a balance, otherwise humanity will always be stuck in misery due to the greed of those who do not wish progress to destroy their existing monopolies.
A balanced and just approach to hemp implementation should therefore be considered. It should not be hindered and slowed to such an extent that it just entrenches existing corporations, but its rate of growth should be monitored so that it doesn’t kill competition too quickly either.
In a normal economic situation, of course innovation and competition should be welcomed freely to an extent (not in the same sense that globalists imagine with their lack of regard for the national labor pool of a given country, ready to supplant the local worker with cheap, imported workers) and those who produce obsolete or inefficient products should accept the consequences of innovation.
However, national economies must protect themselves from the parasitic nature of globalism, especially those countries which are in weak positions because they have been historically suppressed by the arrogant powers. Protectionism and economic nationalism is important as a strategy to prevent the country from sinking into a state of being weak and dependent on imports.
This does not mean isolationism nor ending international trade (as exports are a key factor of gaining wealth through these industries), but it means doing for self first and then turning to others for that which we do not have the ability to produce ourselves. It is about being independent, not isolated.
Therefore if hemp threatens to rapidly tank a certain industry in a country that suffers from political and economic weakness, then a phase-in plan should be drafted independently, and not under the influence of hemp’s jealous competitors. In no way should it ever favor the monopolists. Rather it should favor the countrymen, to avoid a rapid decline in profits of an industry that employs thousands of people.
However, this may not be the case in all areas, whereby hemp should remain free to experience natural growth in its industry and output, with no quotas or moratoriums, as is decided by consumer and industrial demand for hemp raw materials and end products.
Even if hemp outperforms cotton, trees, and other natural resources, that doesn’t mean that there will be no use for trees, cotton, or other natural resources. It doesn’t mean these industries will suddenly go out of business. It is just better to think ten steps ahead just in case that this good intention winds up preventing a developing nation from capitalizing on its existing natural resources so they can build their country up to a level where they can be comfortable if cotton reduces its trade levels while hemp’s rises, due to having more efficiency in use of resources (like water) and its ability to produce more fabric materials per square kilometer.
Another unintended consequence can be environmental, so Ministers of Agriculture should employ botanists and other plant biology specialists who can determine if Cannabis Ruderalis would be an invasive species in a particular region or subregion, so as not to disrupt any natural ecosystems.
Another issue is health. While hemp has no known side effects, allergies should be determined.
Additionally, it is not clear if hemp is potentially estrogenic – like soy or hops – or not, but that only applies to ingestible hemp products like medicine and seeds. This would not apply to industrial products. In any case, medicine is only used when sick and not year round, so the benefits outweigh the harms, and hemp seed snacks can be consumed in moderation by men depending on the findings of studies.
It is important to mention these things. While hemp should be pursued and its potential not hindered by the greed of existing monopolists, still a thoughtful approach is necessary to prevent any unintended consequences, especially since the countries that should consider implementing this are already under economic warfare, siege, and sanctions, and thus don’t live under normal conditions, and thus their form of protectionism is designed to protect the nation’s strength and sovereignty, not to protect its monopolists.
It is about caution, not constricting hemp’s rightful place in the sun to salvage oligarchs and kleptocrats. This world is big enough for all of us. It is up to those who still invest in cotton, trees, etc. to find better uses for it so they may still profit while being innovators. Instead of competition, let us try harmony for the sake of the health of the Islamic Ummah.
Hemp creates jobs at each level of production:
- The farmer who plants the seed and harvests the finished plant.
- Those who take the finished plant and separate its various components (flowers, leaves, seeds, stalk outer layer, stalk inner layer)
- Those who take and process each component into useable materials (fabric thread, flower essential oil for medicine, seeds for food, etc.)
- Those who turn the materials into finished products (clothes, hemp concrete, etc).
- Those who sell the finished products (retail, business to business, construction, hospitals/pharmacies, customer service, after market repair, etc)
That is just a basic estimate. Each level can contain hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands of workers. Every level benefits the domestic economy and none of it is imported. It is eco-friendly and supports a strong national economy.
This powerful plant can be a potentially groundbreaking weapon in the arsenal of agricultural jihad and the Resistance Economy.
The Islamic Republic of Iran currently has an industrial hemp industry, although its size is nowhere near what its potential could be in order to produce textiles, building materials, paper, and more. Hemp seeds for a hearty snack can be purchased in Iran, as well as natural fiber hemp clothing, sometimes sewn according to traditional cultural styles that give Islamic mystics a sense of being connected with eternity (al Hayy, one of the 99 names of Allah meaning the ever living) as opposed to the cold, lifeless post-modern materials and styles of the fast fashion industry.
For the future, the IRGC and Iranian Artesh (Army) could contract with hemp farmers and various textile factories to produce all-natural, eco-friendly uniforms so that the men of God who defend the land and defend Islam can be clothed with the very soil they are defending, just as Thomas Sankara envisioned.
It can also be subsidized by the medical sector, so that medical-grade, standardized hemp flower oil can be used for patients who need it (and given for free or reduced cost to the poor who cannot afford it). Due to its non-narcotic value, the drug enforcement officers of Iran do not have to worry about its potential misuse or smuggling. It can help create a vibrant economy that would otherwise be dormant.
In 2020, Lebanon legalized the medical use of Sativa/Indica and the industrial use of Ruderalis. However, due to Lebanon’s complicated political situation and how its government was made to be intentionally weak and inept, it is not clear if specific, clear-cut, and easy-to-understand regulations have been implemented to facilitate this much needed economic boom to revive Lebanon’s dying economy. Just the same as Iran, however, it is clear that it is better that such an economy be alive than dormant.
Especially for Lebanon’s situation as being the victim of political and military domination by the Zionist entity and the West, it would be a very powerful symbol if both the Islamic Resistance and the Lebanese Army wore uniforms made out of the very soil they are defending.
The irony is that USAID, a CIA front disguised as a NGO, funds many agricultural projects in Lebanon. Almost always though, it is counterproductive.
USAID funds the cultivation of avocado trees in Lebanon, even though avocado trees require a lot of water resources and Lebanon has an issue with water shortages. Meanwhile, a plant like industrial hemp which takes up very little in the way of resources like water do not get support from USAID. Why? Because America does not want a Lebanon that is economically independent and hemp’s multi-layered economic benefits would create a situation that America does not want. It wants Lebanese to suffer until they blame Hezbollah for the crises that American/Saudi/Zionist puppet politicians and oligarchs created.
The same logic can be applied to Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and other nations targeted by international Zionism and Anglo-American liberal imperialism.
Achieving economic independence is a mighty feat and a necessary jihad. Hemp is an easy-to-grow crop that unleashes a multi-dimensional economic benefit to those who cultivate it. Its applications and rollout – as well as potential environmental factors and avoiding the rapid conflict with existing industries via moratoriums and gradual rollouts according to the best interests of the nation, not the best interests of oligarchs – can be altered and adjusted according to the needs and situation of each country and region, it is up to the experts and non-corrupt policymakers to tailor it to their needs.
Thomas Sankara exclaimed “Let’s make sure that the African market belongs to Africans. Let’s produce in Africa, manufacture in Africa, and consume in Africa. Let’s produce what we need and consume what we produce, instead of importing goods.” This statement has and should still reverberate throughout history and throughout the world of the oppressed and subjugated.
Let us repurpose that statement for every nation in the Global South and Islamic Resistance bloc: “Let’s make sure that the _____ market belongs to _____. Let’s produce in _____, manufacture in ____, and consume in _____. Let’s produce what we need and consume what we produce, instead of importing goods.” Insert the name of any country, and that should be the motto for the Resistance Economy.
The men of God who defend their lands from the Satanic powers get more baraka (blessings) from God when their uniforms are made out of the soil they are defending. For those who are not at that point yet, hemp is a great tool to revitalize the economy of the people and have the defenders of the people be clothed by the labor of the people and the soil of the land.
Many Palestinian resistance leaders have described that the land loves them and treats them well. When they are fighting the enemy and traveling throughout the tunnels under Gaza, they describe it as being cooled as if with an air conditioner, despite there being no electronic appliances. Meanwhile, on the side of the illegitimate Zionist entity, stories of sinkholes and other natural disasters are the land telling these murderous occupiers to get out, this land rejects you! Now imagine what blessing there would be if the resistance wore the very land as their uniform, through hemp fabric uniforms.
Let us make this statement by Thomas Sankara also echo and reverberate around the world and throughout history: “Burkina Faso came here to show you our locally produced cotton, woven in Burkina Faso, and tailored in Burkina Faso to clothe our people. I, along with my delegation, am dressed by our tailors, our farmers. Not a single thread comes from Europe or America. I am not presenting a fashion show here [crowd laughs], but I simply would like to say that we must accept to live according to the African way, it’s the only way to live in freedom and with dignity.”
Let us repurpose that to make a declaration of Resistance Economy for the entire Islamic resistance bloc. “The Islamic Resistance Axis came here to show you our locally produced [hemp and/or cotton], woven in our countries, and tailored in our countries to clothe our people. We, along with our delegation, are dressed by our tailors, our farmers. Not a single thread comes from Europe or America. We are not presenting a fashion show here, but we simply would like to say that we must accept to live according to the Islamic Revolutionary way, it’s the only way to live in freedom and with dignity.”
If the blood of the author of this publication is spilled after the publishing of this article, may it permanently stain the hands of the monopolist pawns of the Zionists and Americans who did it, in order to try to prevent this reality from actualizing, and may they be caught red handed, but more importantly, may their arrogant and illegitimate domination over the people be brought down by the hand of divine justice. May the blood of all the martyrs, past, present, and future forever haunt the Satanic powers and put immense pressure on their power structures until they are brought to the hellfire where they belong.
