Gaza Today: From Humanity to Insanity

More than 100 days has passed since the continuous carpet bombing and mass genocide by Zionist entity against the innocent civilians in Palestine. What is happening today past 100 days of constant bombing in Gaza is pointing to a world that is going to be radically changed because of the genocide that began after 7 October 2023.

The price is unimaginable to all of us, a price that is being paid by people of Gaza every single hour of every single day for the past months. The outcome is a world that has been uncovered, absolutely exposed, utterly hypocritical, immoral, and an international order that is unbecoming and despicable in terms of its standing and efficiency.

The struggle with occupied Palestine is decades old and not a new conflict. All along for many years, this case has been viewed as a struggle between truth and falsehood, occupied and occupier, just and unjust, my land versus your land. So, what is new today?

The battle of two conflicting forces has upgraded itself, or rather, let’s say degraded itself to one that is between human and non-humans. It is a struggle in the identification of one’s being as a human being or a barbaric being. What is our identity and what is your identity?

The question is no longer where is the position of truth and who is aligned with truth; it is now: Who is human being and whose actions is aligned with human principles? In the words of great martyr, Dr. Mustafa Chamran (ra), in his daily Memoirs written in a book titled There was God and Nothing Else, he says: “The Palestinian resistance had become an idol for us, and we accepted and worshiped it without question, and we accepted its way, doing its works and its justifications. But we realized that humanity and the human and divine values are more valuable above everything else, and nothing can replace them. It is necessary to become a human being first.”

We are facing a striking irony before us. We witness a world today where humanity was able, by God’s will, to achieve the most glorious of technical, scientific, and medical advancements, we are now conquering space and heading towards Mars, going into the depths of spaces, taking pictures from the web satellite that is mind-boggling and opening our eyes to the beauty of God’s creation which we never imagined or witnessed before. We see humanity progressing in these materialistic fields reaching a high point on the y-axis of an imaginary graph labeled ‘human materialistic advancements.

Despite this technological explosion and communication revolution, we simultaneously see humanity falling to its lowest point in terms of its levels of stress, mental health, its misery, and deprivation. Today, we are seeing far more wars and conflicts than any other time in history, more bloodshed and more economic disparity around the world, we see the spread of disease taking continents, the rise of epidemics and ailments which our grandparents in previous generation didn’t encounter.

Our food is being processed in ways which poison us and affect our health, while our predecessors in past centuries although lived a simpler life, were able to manage just fine. We are seeing more people commit suicide than before. Although humanity reached pinnacle of human advancement, we find a sharp drop in human values, morality, and ethics in the imaginary graph with a y-axis labeled ‘humanitarian values.’ We see humanity reaching its lowest in terms of happiness, self-satisfaction, and contentment. Shouldn’t advancement make people happier?

The world today, governed by the imperial powers in the west (USA, France, Britain) along with other rising hegemonic powers are ever more focused on building and enriching its capitalism, increasing its revenue and businesses at any cost whatsoever, even if at the cost of humanity. The greed for power at the global front, the desire to become and/or retain the status of superpower and the thirst for a never-ending money machine superseded the need for humanity to stay human.

The means justifies the western causes even it if it means any of these policies: political lobbying, planting puppet governments at every corner of the globe, contaminating academic curriculum with unethical thoughts and behaviors, spinning false campaigns at seemingly justifiable pretexts to distract the people from reality and cover their ideas from truth, and more. The modern media with all its outlet has become the most poisonous weapon to spread false information, brainwash the masses about oppression happening in difference places, and we see it very clearly today in Gaza. From humanity, today we see insanity.

Let’s ask ourselves: What is the most thriving booming industry in the world today? It is the arms industry. It is the industry of killing people that is the most profitable and the most successful. Imagine a world where to become powerful, rich, and influential, you need to get into the business of killing. This is anomaly and oxymoron but a reality we are living and seeing. The U.S. spends hundreds of billions of dollars both domestically and internationally to advance its interests, but some of the biggest beneficiaries are also some of the world’s largest corporations.

In 2022, Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act, allocating $816.7 billion to the US Defense Department. Much of the budget, about $389.5 billion, was spent on military contracts to secure weaponry and services from defense contractors, according to the (Department of Defense) DOD annual report. When war breaks out, military contractors can expect a rise in sales.

Ever since Russia’s military operation in Ukraine started in 2022, the US has provided Ukraine with $44.2 billion in military assistance. Military contractors benefit from this arrangement as the US buys military equipment from these institutions and sends the weaponry to Ukraine. Look at Palestine today, with the weapon industry in mind, does it explain the human genocide which we see in Gaza? The more aid given to the Zionist regime, the more weapons are brought, and the longer the war continues, the more weapons are used and the more it serves the weapon industry.

As for the propagation of the occupation regime, the western policies have infiltrated its shared interest to spread the Zionist virus in other countries and none are stepping forward to object. In various provinces of Germany, to obtain residency, residents need to sign paper that they recognize the state of “Israel” in Germany.

When there are two conflicting parties, it’s natural for any human to attempt to stop violence and try to sort it out the situation. But in the UK, several members of government were sacked because they called for ceasefire, a political position which does not threaten the existence of the occupation, but even such a mild position is intolerable.

In UK and across western world and Europe, it becomes a sackable offense if you dare to ask for violence to stop. They didn’t support Palestinians; their offense was simply that they voice the desire for violence to stop because lot of children are getting killed. What kind of mentality and dehumanization is this? This is the same government that’s running the affairs of people living in the west which includes Muslims, and governing our best interests supposedly, caring for our health and welfare, our security, and our community.

We are living in a failed international system. But with all the negative, there is light at the end of the tunnel. As God says in verse 94:6, “With difficulty comes ease.” Everyone, the whole world is listening and watching: Arabs, Asians, Europeans, Africans, Latin American, etc., are asking themselves serious questions about the morality of the world and the state of insanity that we have reached.

We have been awakened by Allah’s grace, by the sacrifice and steadfastness of the people in Gaza. The entire world knows about Palestine, about the occupation, about Zionist occupation regime, and in this process, they are also learning wonders about Islam.

Seeing fathers and mothers of slain children uttering Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God) is begging the question from many people how can their reaction be that of praise and content while they are carrying the bodies of their own children? Verses from the Holy Quran is being read and contemplated over like never before, by non-Muslims. Lessons in faith is being presented and appreciated. Westerners are slowly discovering God through the pain and suffering, as well as the patience and perseverance of the people of Gaza.

On the other hand, the world is learning about the identity of the Zionist regime through their heinous war crimes. Even though “Israel” spends hundreds and millions of dollars to create this beautiful image in “Israel” that it is “the only democracy in the Middle East” yet look what type of image it earned today!

Many young Jews whose families live in “Israel” are admitting they are now reading about the true history of “Israel” which took place in 1948. Now for the first time in an international court, a case was presented that “Israel” is a despicable repugnant entity carrying out heinous crimes against civilians and against children, even if the court’s ruling was toothless and asked the genocidal occupation regime to police its own behavior.

No one can wash away this history that we are currently living. They themselves are exposing themselves, their frailty, their emptiness, their criminality, and their Zionism. The world is about to take another turn, so wait and watch with us. As Allah the Almighty says: “Say: Wait then, surely I am also with you waiting.” [10:102]
