Martyr Sayyed Hussain al-Houthi’s Vision of Hezbollah and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah

The martyred founder of Ansar Allah drew lots of inspiration from the martyred Hezbollah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

This is the fourth part in a series written anonymously by a Lebanese academic on the worldview of AnsarAllah founder Martyr Hussain Badr al-Din al-Houthi (ra). (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)

Clarifying the nature of the conflict with the “Israeli” enemy, His Eminence Martyr Sayyed Hussain Badr al-Din al-Houthi (ra) drew on Hezbollah’s experience to rescue his people from the depths of deception. Based on the clear and explicit verses of the Holy Qur’an, and the promises of God Almighty, he was able to create a Yemeni society capable of creating major transformations.

The founder of the Ansar Allah movement repeatedly spoke of the martyred leader Sayyed Nasrallah, his jihad, his sincerity, his devotion, his leadership, and his loyalty, describing his loyal cadres as “the masters of the mujahideen of this era.”

The instances in which Martyr al-Houthi spoke about Hezbollah were in the context of presenting evidence of the credibility of the Holy Qur’an’s promises of victory for the righteous regardless of the capabilities of their enemies. This is conditional upon adherence to Qur’anic guidance, trust in divine promises, and complete submission in good times and bad.

Martyr Sayyed Hussain al-Houthi says: “It is very important for people to follow the jihadi operations carried out by Hezbollah through videos. You will find verses in them, not just military scenes. You will find examples from the Holy Qur’an, evidence from the Holy Qur’an such as verse 3:111: {Then they will not be helped}, which is a Qur’anic reminder about the Jews. There is nothing that will enable them to triumph over us, and no one around them will enable them to triumph over us. No bond from God remains, nor does any bond from people. Everything is abandoned to them, so they will not truly be helped.”

Martyr Hussain Badr al-Din al-Houthi also sought to return the nation to the sources of its glory and strength, noting that what Hezbollah is doing is “living evidence of the truthfulness of the Holy Qur’an, which states that whoever holds fast to God, then he holds fast to the Dominant, Mighty, Compeller, and Proud.”

His Eminence asks: “Haven’t they seen how Hezbollah bombs ‘Israel,’ the very thing they try to keep quiet about? It bombs it, and it doesn’t care. It challenges it to its core, and it doesn’t care. It rains missiles on its military bases.”

He continues: “Wasn’t Hezbollah an example for all sects and all societies? Didn’t Hezbollah defeat America and ‘Israel’? It drove America out of Lebanon, targeted its forces, and forced them to withdraw in humiliation with its battleships, which were shelling Beirut with enormous missiles. It drove them out of Lebanon, then drove ‘Israel’ out, and continued to strike them with the various weapons it possessed. Thus, it defeated America and Israel!”

The founder of the Ansar Allah movement describes Hezbollah fighters as “the masters of the mujahideen in this world. They are the ones who offered martyrs, they are the ones who truly saved the nation’s reputation, and they continue to save our reputation.”

He emphasizes that they are “saturated with the spirit of the Holy Qur’an, and all their actions are jihad, all unity, all brotherhood, all spending [for the sake of Allah], all sacrifice.”

Martyr Sayyed Hussain Badr al-Din al-Houthi explains, “These believers are not like the Arab leaders who possess hundreds of thousands of armies armed with the most modern weapons, yet they cannot confront ‘Israel.’”

He also asks: “Doesn’t Hezbollah appear honorable before us? Does it possess something that others possess? No… Where does this honor come from? It is the honor of faith: ‘For honor belongs entirely to Allah. [4:139]’”

Martyr Sayyed Hussain Badr al-Din al-Houthi (ra) asserts that “Hezbollah is a group of believers… and they were able to achieve peace, but not through inaction or silence.”

In the same context, the founder of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement points out that there is only one path to peace, in which there is no room for despair: “{And hold fast, all together, to the rope of Allah, and do not be divided} [3:103]. With all of this, Allah guides us to peace, He guides us to the paths of peace. Everyone who seeks peace, everyone who wants peace, everyone who knows that their Lord is peace, must act on the basis of the Qur’an.”

Further, Martyr Hussain Badr al-Din al-Houthi presents Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as a model of spiritual faith and Qur’anic culture, and an important and powerful leader needed by the nation: “A strong man, and possessing great leadership acumen.”

With deep sorrow, the martyred leader asks: “Do you hear the Arab media talking about Hezbollah? Or do you hear the Arab media talking about, or broadcasting Nasrallah’s speeches?! They flee from the strong man, while those Jews seek the strong man. What is the natural result of this? That these people are weak as their leaders are weak, weak as their souls are weak, weak because they care about nothing.”

He continues: “Those who trust in God speak with all their mouths, challenging ‘Israel’ in its own backyard. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his ilk, with all candor and strength, based on their confidence in the truth of the Qur’an, describe the Jews as too cowardly to stand firm on the battlefield. Hezbollah truly tested them. They tested them in southern Lebanon. How cowardly they were, fleeing. A single Hezbollah soldier repelled an ‘Israeli’ troop convoy and a column of tanks and military trucks. They terrified them to the point that whenever a Jew returned from southern Lebanon to occupied Palestine, he would cry with joy and kiss his family. He had escaped the throes of death.”

The fact that the lineage of the martyred Sayyed Nasrallah is rooted in the family of the Prophet Muhammad (S) is the only way the nation can achieve victory over its enemies.  He says: “We saw a leader from the sons of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family), Hassan Nasrallah, and how he confounded ‘Israel,’ and how a single channel [Hezbollah’s Al-Manar channel] confounded ‘Israel’s’ media and even confused the Jews inside ‘Israel.’ Indeed, the Jews will not be defeated except under the leadership of the family of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family), under the leadership of those who follow the path of Ali (as), under the leadership of those who are loyal to Ali.”

The martyred Sayyed al-Houthi points out that the stance of the martyred Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in every round of war with the enemy was that of true believers.

He says: “The Secretary General of Hezbollah launched his powerful words, challenging America and ‘Israel,’ and boosting the morale of the Lebanese. All the enemy’s threats do not terrify a single child in Hezbollah. Isn’t this the position of men, the position of believers? In contrast, those leaders who possess many times more equipment than Hezbollah and control millions of people bow their heads to the Americans… As for those heroes who believed in the word of God Almighty, after preparing themselves to be up to the challenge in their faith, by preparing whatever force they can, they believed in the word of God Almighty: {If you support God, He will support you and plant firmly your feet} [47:7}.”

Sayyed Hussain also explains verse 7:167, “And when your Lord proclaimed that He would surely send against them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with the worst of punishment,” emphasizing that what is happening to the Zionist Jews in occupied Palestine at the hands of the Mujahideen is part of this humiliating torment.

Sayyed al-Houthi says: “It will be a humiliating torment, mortifying. What does humiliating mean? It means it makes you despise yourself. It is a torment that belittles you. Notice the actions of Hezbollah, Hamas, [Palestinian Islamic] Jihad, and the Mujahideen movements. ‘Israel’ sees itself as great and influential, yet these people come and annoy it in a way that makes it appear small! They dwarf it in the eyes of others! Isn’t this a humiliating torment?!”

Sayyed al-Houthi does not ignore the state of despair that arises among the nation in the face of the might of the ‘Israeli’ and American enemies and their enormous military capabilities, advanced technologies, and huge financial capabilities.

He says: “God knows that his faithful servants are capable of doing much that qualifies them to the point of conquering his enemies. Didn’t he set examples in real life? Wasn’t Iran a model for Islamic countries? Wasn’t Hezbollah a model for all sects and all societies? Didn’t Hezbollah conquer America and ‘Israel’? It expelled America from Lebanon, struck its battleships and made them withdraw in humiliation with their battleships that were being hit with very large missiles. It expelled them from Lebanon, then expelled ‘Israel’ from Lebanon, and is striking them with the various weapons it possesses.”

The founder of the Ansar Allah movement adds, “One party conquered America and ‘Israel’! Yes, it is one party, a group of believers who were able to achieve peace, but not through inaction or silence.”

The martyred Sayyed continues, “If these people had acted as Hezbollah did in Lebanon, if they had set out as Hezbollah did in Lebanon, they would have achieved peace for themselves, just as Hezbollah achieved peace for its country, its youth, and the citizens of southern Lebanon. Isn’t this what we see unfolding before us? We must learn our lessons, even though we are at the beginning of these events. We must not remain silent while we hear that the Americans are entering Yemen. Why did they come? And what do they want to do?”

Sayyed al-Houthi highlights the attempts of distorting Hezbollah’s image. He says: “What Hezbollah is facing today, and who is Hezbollah? They are the masters of the mujahideen of this world. They are the ones who offered martyrs. They are the ones who truly saved the nation’s reputation. They are still preserving our reputation. Today, conspiracies are being hatched against them, but in a different way.”

With his penetrating insight, the Martyr Leader understood the Great Satan’s attempt to distort Hezbollah’s image and distort the facts, despite its sacrifices. The goal, as the Martyr Leader said, is “to strike Hezbollah later, so that not a single hair will move among Muslims.”

Martyr al-Houthi presented the model of the martyr Sayyed Nasrallah, who aroused enthusiasm, awakened resolve, and strengthened souls. He demonstrated that the enemies and their tools in our Arab countries have strived to obscure this figure from the collective consciousness of our peoples, and you can hardly find anything about him in the Arab media, while he deserves to remain strongly present, with the ideals he represents, on the personal, collective, and even international levels.
