From Gaza to London: UK Government’s Crimes Against Palestinians and Its Own Citizens
The same dystopian government in London which is responsible for the genocide of unfathomable amounts of innocent lives in Gaza also turns around towards its own citizens and keeps them trapped under the yoke of state tyranny, often using the same digital surveillance technologies against its own citizens that it previously tested on Gaza.
In this study I will be looking at one of the main components that has been contributing to the genocide. This key player is known as Elbit Systems, an arms manufacturing company that has 16 branches across the UK. They make drones and other parts for military equipment that are used in the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The existence of this factory is against international law, as superficial and duplicitous as it may be. Bigger than that, it goes against all moral ethics for such factories to exist while they commit crimes of genocide through what is produced within their walls.
Research has shown that the British government was exporting weapons to the occupying regime during this genocide, even after it claimed to no longer do so. Despite the international rage against the terrorist state of Israel, what we witness is a continuation of support by the western allies of Israel.
Added to this, large amounts of British activists disagreed with the proscription of Palestine Action, a group allegedly responsible for damaging sensitive machinery and products within Elbit factories without causing any intentional harm to human beings who worked there. The demand to deproscribe Palestine Action does not contradict British law. This can clearly be seen during the time where this British activist group was proscribed by the British Parliament.
Many of the members of the British parliament voted for the group to be proscribed, on the condition that the freedom to demand and work for its deproscription is not revoked. Palestine Action, a group that started the direct actions, was proscribed as a terrorist group by the British government. However, many argue that this is unjust since the group has not hurt any individual human being. All that has been done is that companies and organisations who have been complicit in the genocide suffered material damage that was made to their properties.
The 24 actionists were arrested, most of them remaining for two years in prison on remand. The situation remained silent and government officials had not given them the right to a fair trial. This critical issue and the continuation of the genocide resulted in a strict decision implemented by eight of the Filton 24 members: an open-ended hunger strike.
The hunger strikers had various demands. One of the major demands was that the Elbit systems factories in the UK are shut down. Another was that they receive fair trials, which their imprisonment on remand clearly violates.
However, the British state has ignored the demands till today. The escalations with the police started when the health of Qesser, one of the hunger strikers, was deteriorating. The prison management avoided providing her with the necessary medical attention that she needed. Many other hunger strikers have been hospitalized multiple times and are approaching a near-death scenario. Therefore, after the presence of Zara Sultana a British MP at the prison she was being held at, many gathered and protested to demand she receives the necessary medical treatment.
After mass uprising, the British government started the trials for the first six members of the Filton24. This was reported on 24 November 2025 by the Filton Actionists’ website.
Further on, groups like Declassified UK managed to retrieve valuable documents that showed the British Army was visiting Israel during the genocide. They trained at Israeli colleges and studied there. Zahra Sultana, a British MP, had a substantial contribution in this information being found out.
Basira Press also approached Shahmina Alam, sister of political prisoner Kamran Ahmed (who is among the hunger strikers) in the second case of directly contacting Filton24 prison. The interview was published after the deterioration of the health situation of Ahmed. It has been reported that he has been taken to the hospital five times. The medical care of Ahmed was obstructed in a hospital setting.
In an exclusive interview with the mother of political prisoner Fatema Zainab, she gave the most recent updates regarding the situation of the group and how her daughter’s stance for what is right inspired her.
There was two weeks of break on legal proceedings and on 6 January 2026, she reported that the legal actions have started again. This Friday 9 January 2026, the court proceedings will start. It is expected that the legal trials will end in 2027.
Basira Press has received valuable information on the misconduct of the British government and authorities regarding the situation of the hunger strikers. Based on the document received, it shows that hunger strikers have faced a lack of immediate medical response by medical staff. The mistreatment is not limited to that.
Despite the legal hearings, six of the hunger strikers remain on a hunger strike, Kamran Ahmed being one of them, with two of them pausing their strike.
Many of them have passed 40 days of hunger strike and are at the imminent risk of death. Despite that, the British government officials have refused to meet any representatives of the families. It is evident that the British government is not considering the lives that are at risk and may indeed let these British citizens die.
The complicity of the British government has caused a major escalation in public rage since 7 October 2023. The public started questioning the legitimacy of the acts and how freedom of innocent people is being abused, while war criminals and corporations like Elbit face zero legal prosecution.
The ongoing support of the genocide by the British government led to the start of a chain of direct-action operations. Filton24 is a team of 24 individuals who took direct action against Elbit Systems’ factories. They allegedly entered the factories and dismantled and/or damaged the machines of terror and manslaughter. This caused major distress to the Zionist entity and its allies.
The occupation of Palestine was a plot hatched by the British government and wealthy Jewish banking dynasties such as the Rothschild family and that cooperation in upholding the occupation of Palestine has been ongoing till today. This shows that the suffering of Palestine and the economic despair of the British people is closely linked, as the same people who support the Zionist occupation are those who design economic policies which concentrate wealth into the hands of less than 1% of the global population and reduces the purchasing power of the average person in the UK.
During the expansion of the cancerous tumor known as Israel, many technologies were used to control the movement of Palestinians. One of the main tools was facial recognition.
Many of us can relate to this by remembering how after the COVID pandemic – which was likely created by the US government and organizations like the WHO and Bill Gates Foundation (further reading: exclusive Basira Press interview with Iranian scientist of medical biotechnology Dr. Ali Karami) – that happened in 2020 and later, we witnessed a stricter control over the activity of people in their societies, often through the use of technology. The same facial recognition technology used against Palestinians was suddenly being used to create a dystopian techno-tyranny against the citizens of western nations.
In the most recent events, we can mention Lebanon and the targeted assassinations of individuals who are building their lives after a war of terror. After a conversation I had with an investigative journalist in Lebanon, he emphasized how this facial recognition in many cases has made a mistake, yet such data – accurate or mistaken – still leads to killings.
Killing civilians is not justified by law, however the ongoing events in Lebanon and Gaza deeply raise a concern about the ethics of the implementation of Digital ID.
Contrary to what many claim that the mobile phones we carry already provide data to the state, major concerns have erupted after the UK government has started mentioning the limitations that people will face after the Digital ID has been rolled out.
To further link Digital ID with Gaza, it is worth noting that Tony Blair is heavily involved in the push for mandatory Digital ID requirements in public life. The same Tony Blair who is being floated as the potential colonial viceroy to oversee Gaza on behalf of the Israelis and Americans. Even further, Tony Blair’s foundation which pushes for Digital ID receives large donations from Larry Ellison, a major executive in Oracle (which pioneers in the technology needed for Digital ID and the looming techno-dystopia). Ellison himself is one of the largest private donors to the Israeli military.
There is a huge link between the genocide in Gaza and the oppression of British citizens, where both Gazans and Britons will be subject to a suffocating dragnet surveillance state which is hostile towards the subject population. Britons who cheer on the genocide in Gaza will soon be subjected to the same things they support against Gazans.
While the tyrannical British state and elite bankers in the City of London may benefit from its support of the Zionist occupation, the British people are the ultimate losers in this equation. Countless Britons suffer from poverty and inability to save for a home, yet their tax money doesn’t come to support them but instead goes to commit genocide in Gaza. At the same time, their rights and freedoms will be severely impeded by the same AI and facial recognition technology used against Gaza and Lebanon.
Britons will severely regret not standing against the genocide in Gaza and not supporting the Filton24 political prisoners, because this same heavy-handed British government will treat their own citizens as enemies and “human animals” just like how they view Palestinians. When Britons look back in history and see how they let the Filton24 hunger strikers die, they will have immense regret as they will be living under a tyranny using the same technology they cheered on, so long it was used against a population other than their own.
To conclude, the times are changing and despite the deteriorating situations, we await the latest updates on how the situation unfolds regarding the Filton24 and Palestine Action political prisoners, in addition to the dystopian rollout of Digital ID by the very same officials and corporate heads who are deeply involved in the genocide of Gaza.
