Martyr Ali Alaa al-Din: Martyred Son of a Martyr, on the Path of Al Quds

An exclusive profile on Martyr Ali Yusuf Alaa al-Din (ra), who gave his life fighting against Zionist terrorists in October 2023, and the role of his honorable mother in raising such an upright, noble human being.

On the evening of Saturday, 14 October 2023, Ali Yusuf Alaa al-Din “Jawad Ali” (ra) from Sohmor (northeast of Nabatieh), Lebanon was martyred during confrontations with the Zionist enemy in Lebanon following the epic, historical Al Aqsa Flood operation which included retaliatory operations from Hezbollah against Zionist aggression.

Ali was well-liked among his peers due to him being very humble, cheerful, patient, and generous. He has been obsessed with riding motorcycles, but now his motorcycle has returned without him, just as Imam Hussain’s (as) horse returned in Karbala without its rider, for the sake of the innocent children of Gaza and in revenge for journalist Martyr Issam Abdullah (ra), who has been deliberately targeted by the Zionist enemy amid the deliberate and scandalous silence of all mainstream media and the prestigious organizations claiming to protect journalists, including Reuters who employed Martyr Abdullah at the time of his targeted assassination. In their press statement, Reuters shamefully failed to mention who killed their employee, due to the powerful Zionists who sit in its executive positions.

Hezbollah has pointed out in a statement: “With greater pride, the Islamic Resistance honours to declare the martyrdom of Mujahid Ali Alaa al-Din / Jawad Ali, from the town of Sohmor, who got martyred while carrying out his jihadist duty.”

On the next day, “Martyrs Ali Alaa al-Din and Hussein Kamal al-Masry Resistance Group” targeted the hostile enemy position in Shtoula with guided missiles.

Martyr Ali is the son of Martyr Yusuf Alaa al-Din (ra), who was martyred before the July War on May 28, 2006, during a similar Zionist aggression. At that time, the Secretary General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, visited the family, stressing Hezbollah’s pride in Martyr Yusuf and his family, and in the great sacrifices they have made since the founding of the resistance, saying: “When a martyr falls for us, we cherish him and celebrate him; we do not hide our martyrs.”

Immediately after receiving the news of his martyrdom, the mother of Martyr Ali Alaa al-Din confirmed that she has fully adhered to the will of her husband, Martyr Yusuf, as she has raised her son and prepared him to be a supporter of the oppressed wherever they are.

Zainab (45) has revealed that she – wholeheartedly – is the one who ordered her son to join the ranks of the resistance because she would not waste the honorable opportunity of sacrificing all what she has for the resistance and its Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah – even if this is her own beloved son – “until the liberation of Palestine.”

In turn, Muhammad (32), the eldest son of Martyr Yusuf Alaa al-Din, has stated that the holy blood of his brother Ali was to support the oppressed people of Gaza, adding that the resistance weapon is a sacred weapon, and it is a red line that is forbidden to be crossed, as it is to defend the oppressed under the banner of the resistance leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Martyr Ali has got married only 25 days before his martyrdom; when you speak about the resistance culture, you are before an exceptional case of sacrifice, redemption, and devotion. They live in this world, but are not its slave and do not accept a life of humiliation in exchange for temporary pleasures and are glad to sacrifice for a noble, lofty cause so that future generations can live under a divine system which guarantees a decent life without humiliation, a purposeful life centered around the divine rather than a meaningless life enslaved by the carnal.

Ali is one of many young men who have certainly believed in the legitimacy of their struggle, who have known the ugliness and malice of global arrogance, and have took up their humble weapons against the enemy, which is supported by the Western colonial powers – the true terrorist organizations of the world – with the latest military, security, and logistical technologies.

Notably, Martyr Ali has two uncles who were martyred during the Zionist invasion, another one who was martyred before the liberation of 2000, and his father who was martyred before the July aggressive war. Hence, he has grown up in an environment that is entirely pro-resistance. His seventy-year-old grandfather is also one of the first fighters in the resistance.

This culture and environment always has always been imposing equations that the enemy fails to comprehend, because it is foolish and arrogant, and because it is an occupier and usurper, and not the indigenous owner of this land. Their sealed hearts cannot comprehend the divine light that feeds this culture and keeps it alive.

17 years of orphanhood have been bitterly endured by Ali while our children enjoy security and joy. Despite this, his mother, Zainab, has been busy preparing him to be a brave Resistance hero and then a heroic martyr, defending the martyrs of the media and the oppressed of Gaza. Zainab has alone raised her children as resistance fighters. She has stayed up long nights instilling in their souls the values of resistance and loyalty while crafting crochet pieces to ensure a decent living for them.

Despite the slander against Islam by the Zionist media’s propaganda through the fake news stories and Hollywood films, the true Muslim woman contributes to society through her intelligence, morality, love, and nurturing.

From the Zainab of Karbala, to this Zainab of southern Lebanon, we gain proof that Islam promotes a positive role of women in society which is safeguarded by their modesty and chastity. She bears the credit for building a righteous, noble human being who stands for the truth in a vast ocean of corruption and sacrifices his life to safeguard divine values from a tsunami of evil and wickedness.

“If women do not take part in the social movement of a nation, that movement will not be effective and won’t succeed. If women seriously participate in a movement with awareness and insight, that movement will move forward with increased speed.”

Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei
July 11, 2012
Martyr Amina Bint al-Huda as-Sadr (ra) of Iraq taught us that the true Muslim woman neither has the arrogance of the west (shamelessness, immodesty, materialistic, etc.) nor the ignorance of the east (illiterate, uninformed, etc). The mothers of martyrs, such as Zainab Alaa al-Din, truly embody this notion, as due to their modesty and chastity they become intelligent and well-informed, to be able to raise the future of civilization through their righteous children.

Ali has responded to the call of the “Al Aqsa Flood” resistance operation and has advocated for the rights and welfare of the innocent children of Gaza. He has not abandoned the rifle, as Martyr Ibrahim al-Nabulsi (ra) recommended, so his pure blood has mixed with the blood of the Palestinian martyrs, and thus, has consolidated the unity of the battlefields and the unity of the struggle against the usurping Zionist entity.
